Illinois Farm Bureau ACTIVATOR Endorses Rodney Davis for Congress
Bloomington, IL — Farmer trustees representing county Farm Bureaus in the 13th Congressional District are endorsing U.S. Representative Rodney Davis for re-election.
“Agriculture is critical to the local economy in central and southwestern Illinois,” said Rodney Davis. “That’s why I fight for our farmers every day in Congress. Whether it’s opposing tax increases on farmers, supporting the Renewable Fuel Standard, opening up foreign markets for American farmers, or expanding access to high-speed broadband, I’m committed to supporting policies that strengthen our farming families and rural communities. I’d like to thank the Illinois Farm Bureau ACTIVATOR for the ‘Friend of Agriculture’ Award and for their endorsement of our campaign for Congress.”
13th District ACTIVATOR chairman Larry Rhodes said, “We are beyond thrilled to present Representative Davis with the Illinois Farm Bureau ACTIVATOR Friend of Agriculture award and endorsement. Representative Davis has been a leading advocate for Illinois farmers. Since being elected he has always listened to our concerns and comments and continues to find a solution to our problems.”
County Farm Bureau leaders meeting as trustees for Illinois Agricultural Association ACTIVATOR® – Illinois Farm Bureau’s political action committee – unanimously endorsed Rep. Davis for his outstanding voting record and many other efforts in the 116th Congress on behalf of farmers in his district.
Congressman Rodney Davis has been a true friend of agriculture while serving in Congress. He continues to lead efforts on behalf of Illinois Farm Bureau to improve the lives of Illinois Farm Bureau members. Rep. Davis co-chairs the House Biofuels Caucus and has been a strong voice for the interests of his constituents and farmers across Illinois who rely on a strong ethanol market. He has led efforts on multiple ‘Dear Colleague’ letters this congress on a variety of issues from ethanol to CFAP funding.
Representative Davis has been instrumental in arranging meetings between Illinois Farm Bureau and Ag Secretary Sonny Perdue, Assistant Secretary of the Army for Civil works, and many other members of Congress both across the aisle and of his party. He continues to encourage conversations among Illinois Farm Bureau members by being readily available for meetings both in the 13th district and in Washington D.C.
This is Davis’ fourth time receiving the Friend of Agriculture Award. He has received the endorsement every election since his first run in 2012.
