IL FOP President Southwood: “Congressman Davis has our backs, and that means his continued service in the U.S. House of Representatives is critical to all citizens who depend on the police to keep our homes, businesses, streets and cities safe.”
Springfield, IL — Yesterday, Congressman Rodney Davis joined the Illinois Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) and central Illinois sheriffs to discuss their endorsement of Davis in the 2022 Election and his work in Congress promoting the law enforcement profession.
“It is an honor to be endorsed by so many brave men and women of Illinois’ law enforcement community. Our police have a tough job. They put their lives on the line every single day to keep our communities safe. They deserve elected leaders who have their backs. Whether it’s working to give our police a well-deserved pay raise or standing up to the Democrats’ anti-police, pro-criminal policies, I proudly Back The Blue and support our police in Congress. I’d like to thank the Illinois FOP and the 19 central Illinois sheriffs for their support and trust in me.” – Rodney Davis, Republican candidate for Congress in IL-15
“Rodney Davis has proven time and again that he stands for the men and women in law enforcement, even during times when it has been politically difficult to do so,” said FOP State Lodge President Chris Southwood. “Congressman Davis has our backs, and that means his continued service in the U.S. House of Representatives is critical to all citizens who depend on the police to keep our homes, businesses, streets and cities safe.”
“Congressman Davis supports qualified immunity for our officers and legislation to expand and enhance criminal penalties for individuals who target law enforcement officers and first responders,” Southwood said. “this legislation would make criminals who kill state or local law enforcement officers eligible for the federal death penalty.”
“I have worked in the law enforcement community in central Illinois for over two decades. It’s important that we have elected representatives who have the backs of law enforcement. That’s why I’m proud to join my fellow sheriffs in supporting Rodney Davis for Congress. Rodney is a hard worker and a true friend of law enforcement. We need to keep him in Congress. As a voter in the 15th District, I urge my fellow citizens to vote for Rodney Davis in the Republican Primary on June 28th.” – Menard County Sheriff Mark Oller
“We need leaders in Washington who don’t just talk, but actually work to get things done. That’s why I’m supporting Rodney Davis. He takes the time to listen and hear what law enforcement needs, and then works to support us in Congress. That’s what a true representative should do. As someone who lives and votes in the 15th District, I’m proud to support Rodney Davis for Congress and ask that you support him too.” – McDonough County Sheriff Nick Petitgout
WMAY 6/2/2022: “Sangamon County Sheriff Jack Campbell and former sheriff Neil Williamson were among the officials who joined Davis Thursday at a Springfield news conference. Campbell says Davis has fought efforts to ‘defund the police’ and says Davis, unlike Miller, routinely reaches out to see if there’s anything the sheriff’s office needs.”
Rodney Davis is a strong supporter of the men and women of law enforcement. He doesn’t just talk about supporting our police. He works to promote their profession in Congress. You can read more about the law enforcement legislation Davis is working on here.
