Davis Campaign Releases New Ad: Lindy
Ad highlights Rodney’s support for the bipartisan Paycheck Protection Program, which helped save and support over 2 million Illinois jobs
Taylorville, IL — Today, Rodney Davis’ campaign for Congress released a new ad titled “Lindy,” which highlights how a small business in Champaign, Illinois was able to keep their employees on the payroll during the pandemic thanks to the Payroll Protection Program (PPP), which Rodney supported in Congress.
You can watch the ad here or by clicking the image below.
The ad features Lindy McDonald, owner of Myler Automotive Repair Inc. in Champaign, Illinois. Myler Automotive has been in business since 1977. They perform mechanical repair work and employ seven people.
Myler Automotive and so many other small businesses were able to use PPP loans to provide financial certainty and keep employees on the payroll even though business was hurting because of the pandemic.
Rodney supported the Paycheck Protection Program in Congress through the bipartisan Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act) and other legislation that later expanded and extended the Program. PPP funds have helped save and support over 2 million jobs. Nationally, that figure is approximately 51 million jobs.
Lindy: At our mechanical repair shop, our employees are like family.
When the pandemic shut our economy down, I thought we would lose everything…
…But Rodney Davis worked across the aisle with Democrats and passed lifeline loans for small businesses like ours.
That money made all the difference.
It has helped save over two million jobs in Illinois, including all of ours.
Thanks Rodney for saving our small business.
